Bags and
parcels, except for handbags and files are not permitted to be brought
into the Library. They must be left in the pigeon holes provided in front
of the Library at the userâs own risk.

Users
can bring in their hand phones but are not permitted to receive and make
calls.

Silence
is to be observed in all public areas. However, conversation rooms are
provided for students who wish to use them.

A few
group study rooms are available on a first come first serve basis for
those who wish to hold discussions in groups of at least 4 persons.

Reservation of seats in the reading area is not permitted. All books and
personal items which are left unattended on the chairs / tables for more
than 20 minutes will be collected by Library staff. Users are advised to
claim them from the Reader Advisory Desk.

All
items which are left behind in the reading areas during closing time may
be claimed at the Reader Advisory Desk. These items will be subsequently
handed over to the Security Center.

The
Library will not take responsibility for any damage and loss of personal
items which are left behind in the Library.

All
users leaving the Library must show their belongings to the Security Staff
on duty at the exit of the Library.

All
Library materials which are overdue are not allowed to be taken out of the
Library.

No
chairs, tables and Library furniture should be shifted from their original
position.

Users
who are caught hiding, defacing or damaging Library property will be
subject to disciplinary action.

Users
are not permitted to eat, drink, smoke, litter or sleep in any part of the
Library.

Library
users are not allowed to use other usersâ membership cards.

Any
student who does not adhere to any of the rules in this section will face
one or more of the following disciplinary actions:

warning
-
a fine
which is not more than two hundred ringgit
-
Suspension from any or all of the University Library facilities for a
certain period.

Banned
from any part of the University for a certain period

Expulsion from the University
